About Me

AuthorPictureHi. My name is Sherrie Cronin and I’m fascinated by superpowers. I suppose it’s because deep down I believe each of us has extraordinary abilities we can draw on when forced to deal with dangers in our own lives.

Please visit my Facebook page Number 46. Ascending. Follow me on Twitter @cinnabar01. Email me at lola.zeitman (at) gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you!

If you have read and enjoyed any of my books, please leave a review anywhere you like.

Here’s my bio:

Sherrie Roth grew up in Western Kansas thinking there was no place in the universe more fascinating than outer space. After her mother vetoed astronaut as a career ambition, she went on to study journalism and physics in hopes of becoming a science writer.

She published her first science fiction short story long ago, and then waited a lot of tables while she looked for inspiration for the next story. When it finally came, it declared it had to be a whole book, nothing less. One night, while digesting this disturbing piece of news, she drank way too many shots of ouzo with her boyfriend. She woke up thirty-one years later demanding to know what was going on.

The boyfriend, who she’d apparently long since married, asked her to calm down. He explained she’d gone back to school and gotten a degree in geophysics in a fit of practicality. She’d spent the last 28 years interpreting seismic data in the oil industry. The good news, he said, was she found it mildly entertaining and ridiculously well-paying. The bad news was the two of them had still managed to spend almost all the money.

Apparently she was now Mrs. Cronin, and the further good news was they had produced three wonderful children whom they loved dearly, even though to be honest that is where a lot of the money had gone. Mr. Cronin turned out to be a warm-hearted, encouraging sort who was happy to see her awake and ready to write. “It’s about time,” were his exact words.

Sherrie Cronin discovered Sally Ride had already managed to become the first woman in space and done a fine job of it. No one, however, had written the book living in Sherrie’s head for decades. The only problem was, the book informed her it had grown into a six book collection. Sherrie decided she better start writing before it got any longer. She’s been wide awake since, and writing away.

  1. Fantastic piece! Love that your partner said: ‘About time’, in reference to your writing! Looking at all you have here suggests it was a good move…

  2. Sherrie, I love the sound of your bio here and appreciate your preliminary review of my Fly Twice Backward. I must tell you my name is David S., not the common conflation Davis …. The two links for me in About the Author are about some fundamentalist minister. I don’t have an author website yet, but here’s what could pass: https://flytwicebackward.blogspot.com. It’s really a place for the links for the paperback version of Fly Twice Backward, links being hard to pull off live on paper. Thanks for hosting my novel, and I hope to see your thoughts after you have time to read it all. Speaking of time, I’ve downloaded One of One, looking forward to starting your series for a different slant on some of the topics I covered, as I wonder how people manage to write so many novels, and even more than that. I’m trying to start a series and to discipline myself to write one every six months. Not likely given my track record.

    • Hi David. I am so sorry about renaming you Davis! I’ve fixed the typo. Also sorry about the confusion with the links. I’ve fixed them both. For Goodreads, I just put in a link that goes directly to your book. If you contact Goodreads, they will help you change your name on their site to David S. McCracken, avoiding confusion with that other guy. I had to do something similar to go from Sherrie Cronin to Sherrie R. Cronin.
In my experience writing the second book goes much faster! I wish you all the best with it. I hope you do keep writing.
If you’re curious about the ways our novels are similar, you may want to just read my first and last book in the 46. Ascending series (One of One and One of Two.) It works fine that way, and you may enjoy seeing how we are both on a similar mission :).
I look forward to featuring your next book here soon. As they say, keep the faith 🙂
